Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

GardenRoomIQ ("GardenRoomIQ", "we", "us", "our") is a mobile summerhouse assembly service operating across Hertfordshire, North London and East London. We operate the website www.gardenroomiq.co.uk.

For data protection purposes, GardenRoomIQ is the data controller. You can contact us at hello@gardenroomiq.com.

2. What data we collect

When you submit a quote request through our website, we collect:

• Your name and contact details (email address and phone number)
• Your postcode
• The summerhouse brand, model, and dimensions
• Details you provide about the job — roof style, storeys, site notes, and your base declaration

We also automatically collect certain technical data when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This is collected via cookies and analytics tools (see Section 5).

3. How we use your data

We use the information you provide to:

• Calculate and send you a quote for assembly services
• Contact you to discuss your quote and arrange appointments
• Carry out the assembly service you have booked
• Send you follow-up communications related to your booking
• Improve our website and services

The legal basis for processing your data is contract performance (to provide the quote and service you've requested) and legitimate interests (to improve our services and communicate with you about your enquiry).

4. How long we keep your data

We retain your personal data for up to 3 years after your last interaction with us, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. We keep records for this period to handle any queries about work carried out and for our business accounting purposes.

You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@gardenroomiq.com.

5. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies for basic analytics, to help us understand how visitors use the site and improve it over time. This may include tools such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.

You'll see a cookie banner on your first visit — declining it means only strictly necessary cookies are used. Most browsers also let you control or block cookies through their settings.

6. Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may share your data with:

• Our assembly team — to carry out the service you've booked
• Service providers — such as our email, hosting, and database providers, who process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements
• Legal authorities — if required to do so by law

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate data
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restrict how we process your data
• Object to our processing of your data
• Data portability — receive your data in a structured format

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@gardenroomiq.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

8. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. Our website uses HTTPS encryption for all data transmission.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of our website after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
